I waited four decades to see my great-grandfather’s face
For much of my life I wondered who I resembled. Although I share similar features with some family members certain things evaded me until now.
Yesterday I went live to talk about lessons learned while doing ancestral research. During that chat my mother called with news.
“I found a picture of him,” she proclaimed.
“Who,” inquired anxious to get the news. “Stephen Bowen,” your great grandfather.
I had been working on his side of the family tree and based on some records I knew he played a pivotal role. Actually his portion of Dearly Departed, part 4 was next in line to be dropped.
This is the moment I saw his face on video chat, immediately the answers to many of my questions had been answered. What a journey
